Here’s a render of a Volkswagen F1 car. I wanted to make the graphics much more involved, but then it becomes impossible to see anything happening underneath….plus i got lazy with it.

old_school_feeling

I did this interior a little while back. Interior exploration inspired by the old IP gauges on the classics.

another_cit

Just another one…

Continuing the sketch development from the last post. I was trying to pick up a few lines/details from the Citroen Metropolis concept, but on this size car they resemble an Audi. I should change that line over the rear fender, however it’s probably best to sleep instead.

sans_wings

Some sort of cross between a DTM and Citroen…maybe? Just some Red Bull to get into an Austrian mode.

nerdy_fun

I understand this is corny, but I had to try it out. I’m not a fan of messing around with the Moog project anymore…but that new Daft Punk / Tron trailer got me thinking.  Time to keep on keeping on.

auto_design

Thanks to UID for scanning and posting this on their transportation blog. I would do it myself…but I probably won’t spend the $50 for the magazine. Nice ending to the degree project…although I don’t really think they wrote a correct description of my project, ooops.

lil_volks

Just revising an ideation I really liked. It was done during the early stages of the degree project.  Not sure I’m happy with it yet but F1 qualifier starts in five minutes….make that three.

ferrari_f1

Thought I should give props to Ferrari for last weekend’s performance at Monza although now my eyes are hurting from rendering in red for too long.

degree_pages

I finally got around to taking some photos of my degree report and portfolio.

mercedes_f1

Yup, another F1 car sketch. I just really enjoy working on these. I would like to get a nice set of these perhaps…then do something with them. Anyway, this one is a Mercedes Benz F1 concept, something perhaps inspired by their recent fleet of concept vehicles.

mclaren_f1_2012

My buddy at McLaren recommended that I stop choosing favourites and only sketching Renaults. Here’s the result. Still rooting for Kubica this weekend though…it’s a street circuit, I have to.

r30_take_3

Finally have a little time to sketch things for fun and after watching the exciting Montreal race last weekend…all I want to do is sketch Formula 1 cars now. I know the colour scheme is off on this, but I’m still not feeling the yellow this season and it’s just a sketch. Looking at it now, should of thrown a Mercedes logo on it.

Part of the degree project was to design the sound of an electric vehicle if it was inspired by electronic music. During my research I came to the conclusion that electronic music was considered the sound of the future once this alien (electronic) sound was combined with something recognizable (like human vocals). This contrast between the alien and recognizable was the key theme for the design language along with it’s audible language. So, the question was…what can we take from this electronic music and how can we use it? With help from a friend Gavin, I designed the noises the electric sports car would make. Click on the link below to hear it.

Finally I’m done the degree project, I’m done driving between Umeå and Wolfsburg and I’m finally back in Canada with time to focus on updating this blog. Here are some pics of the physical model.

Here’s a scene from my examination presentation. I’ll be showing more very soon. Our exhibition is in a couple of days and then I’ll go viral with this work.

Here’s a sample of where the final degree design is going. I’m just playing around with graphics and moods for the report and presentations. Good times.
